United Way Supports Nonprofit Capacity Building
Building Excellence Sustainability and Trust (BEST) is a program of the United Way of Genesee County designed to strengthen the nonprofit sector of Flint and Genesee County by providing capacity building support and technical assistance.
BEST was formed out of an identified need for more well-lead, publicly accountable nonprofits with diverse funding that decreased dependency from any one source of funding. Since 2003, BEST has worked with more than 100 Genesee County agencies through educational programs, organizational development grants and technical assistance resources. Agencies have subsequently expanded programs to serve more individuals in need, leveraged new financial and human capital and collaborated with cross-sector leaders to ensure alignment with community needs. Our vast network of experienced capacity building consultants and various tools can meet your organization's most pressing infrastructure needs.
