abc 12 KEEPS THE SPIRIT OF GIVING!
abc 12 has continuously shown a personal commitment to strengthen our community. With fewer employees, they continue to increase their United Way contributions. With Ron Butler, United Way Executive Director and Mike McDonald, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, as guest speakers, the abc family increased their campaign by 4%. THANK YOU!
BAKER COLLEGE OF FLINT DOES IT AGAIN!!!
For the past several years, Baker College has increased their United Way Campaign. This year was no different, with a 2% increase and lots of excitement at their faculty meetings. THANK YOU!

Once again, United Way’s friends at Delphi embraced their United Way support, by exceeding their goal for the third year in row. We thank you for your outstanding campaign this year, with employees more than doubling their giving, over their goal!
GENESEE COUNTY EDUCATION DIVISION INCREASES DONATIONS!
The University of Michigan Flint and the Kearsley Community School District recently finished their strongest United Way Campaigns to date. Increased participation from U of M Flint employees resulted in a contribution of more than $14,000. The Kearsley Community School District employees raised over $12,000 this year. We want to take this opportunity to thank the University of Michigan Flint and the Kearsley Community School District for being outstanding community leaders.

Randy Wise Buick GMC of Fenton kicked off their 2007 United Way campaign with a company luncheon, prizes and a chili cook off contest. The judges from left to right are Dan McCoy, Rick Porritt, Chris and Randy Wise. The team of four judges had their hands full judging 17 different chili dishes and wisely kept drinking water close by. Prizes ranged from gift cards to area restaurants, season tickets to University of Michigan Basketball games, Red Wings tickets at center ice and Tigers tickets right behind home plate! Campaign festivities were planned at the other Randy Wise Dealerships throughout the week of November 5th.
ROWE, INC., DORT FEDERAL CREDIT UNION, SECURITY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION and BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD-BCN- CAMAPIGN IS A HUGE SUCCESS!
A few of our supporting companies that ran classic campaigns, using United Way’s Best Practices, have reported great campaign results. Rowe, Inc. made their campaign a lot of fun with a Soup Cook-Off, Michigan vs. MSU football squares, prize drawings and a children’s essay writing contest, results: campaign up $1,000. Dort Federal Credit Union had a big pizza party kick-off and with great support from company leadership, they increased their campaign 25%. Security Federal Credit Union did fabulous and fun raffles for United Way, all year long and this success translated into a 25 % increase in contributions during the traditional pledge campaign. And finally, Blue Cross/Blue Shield-BCN used the good old, tried and true method of face-to-face, peer-to-peer campaigning and had an amazing 78% increase in employee contributions. Thank you all!
