OFFICIAL RULES OF THE United Way of Genesee County’s
Bracelet Raffle 2007 - 2008

Presented by the United Way of Genesee County, a 501 c (3) organization (tax exempt charity), IRS No. 383 59 516, hereinafter known as the 'Presenter'.

What is the Bracelet Raffle:   A maximum of 7,000 (seven thousand) numbered silicone bracelets will be available for a donation of $5.00 each.   The numbered bracelet will act as the raffle ticket.  This specially created bracelet will bear the United Way logo and the slogan, “I made a difference”.  The number of the bracelet (1 through 7000), will be printed on the inside of each bracelet. 
The numbered bracelets can be obtained from August 1, 2007 – February 12, 2008 from the Presenter or any representative of the Presenter, designated locations, or from our volunteers and sponsors.  A ticket stub with the corresponding number of the adopted Bracelets will be placed in a drawing.  The winning numbers, 1 through 6, will be the first six ticket stubs.  The first ticket number drawn will win the first prize of $1,000 and the 2nd – 6th ticket numbers will win $100 each.  Winning numbers will be drawn on February 12, 2008 at United Way’s Campaign Celebration.
Prizes:  1st prize will be $1,000 and 2nd – 6th will be $100 each.
Announcing the Winners:  The winning numbers will be announced at the Campaign Celebration Meeting on February 12th, 2008, and posted on United Way of Genesee County’s web site on February 13, 2008.
Chances of winning depend on the total number of bracelets entered.  A maximum of 7,000 raffle bracelets will be entered in the drawing.  Winners need not be present to win.  If any winner does not claim their prize from the presenter within 30 days after the drawing date, Presenter will select another winner thru a random drawing of entry tickets.  If the winner of $1,000 prize fails to claim the prize, the second ticket drawn will be awarded the $1,000 and the another ticket stub will be drawn for a $100 prize.  All prizes will be awarded. 
Claiming the Prize:  Winner must present the Raffle Bracelet bearing the winning number and a driver’s license, or other form of approved identification, in order to claim the prize. Any tax or similar fee is the sole responsibility of the winner.
Waiver/Limitation of Liability: Entrants and other participants hereby release the presenter, supporters, employees, volunteers and the various organizations involved in the presentation and completion of the raffle from liability. Presenter reserves the right to substitute prizes of comparable value. Any tax or similar fee is the sole responsibility of the winner. Eligibility:  Participant must be 18 or older to claim the prize.  Only one (1) individual may be identified as the donor/owner for each Raffle Bracelet.  All federal, state and local laws apply.  Raffle Bracelets can be obtained from United Way of Genesee County, designated locations volunteers throughout Genesee County. Staff of the United Way of Genesee County is not eligible to win any of the prizes.
Record Keeping:  The Presenter will maintain records of Raffle Bracelet distribution to each representative, location, volunteer and sponsor.  Final tally of obtained/adopted and un-obtained/non-adopted Raffle Bracelets will be maintained in writing. A report of the obtained raffle bracelets must be delivered to the Presenter or an authorized representative of the Presenter, or mailed to the presenter at the address set forth in paragraph one (1) above; and received by the Presenter prior to the drawing,  for an entrant to be eligible to win any prize.  Entrants assume the risk of non-delivery of any entries to the Presenter or any representative of the Presenter.  All mailed entries not received on or before February 4, 2008 become a donation to the United Way of Genesee County.  The presenter will not be responsible for late entries and will not be able to include a corresponding ticket in the drawing.
Presenter requests a donation of $5.00 per Raffle Bracelet to benefit the United Way of Genesee County.  The raffle bracelets for a $5.00 donation each can be obtained from the Presenter, or any representative of the Presenter, and other sources authorized by the Presenter.
The Presenter will make all decisions and interpretations of the rules and regulations and its judgment is final. Presenter reserves the right to postpone or re-schedule the drawing because of inclement weather, acts of God, or other circumstances beyond the control of the Presenter.
