As a UAW Labor Liaison, I pledge to service to all persons who seek assistance on all problems affecting Health and Welfare. I shall respect all personal matters confided to me and shall never betray a confidence. I shall do my best to support and strengthen the Community Services Program in my local union and the labor movement. I will always seek increased knowledge and understanding to better serve the needs of our union and the community in which we live.
Did you know that the United Way, along with the UAW and General Motors has built over 4,000 handicapped accessible ramps for those in need throughout Flint, Genesee, Lapeer, and Shiawassee Counties. I am averaging three calls a day inquiring about our ramp program. As your UAW Liaison, I coordinate the program and work with all the different agencies to find assistance for those in need.
Also, as UAW Labor Liaison, I coordinate the United Way UAW Labor Bone Marrow Program. I hold bone marrow drives in Genesee, Lapeer, and Shiawassee Counties and have programs to raise money for the testing of donors. We have registered over 17,500 potential donors and have had over forty life saving matches.
