Who Decides Where to
Invest the Dollars?

Each year United Way’s Community Investment Cabinet (made up of local volunteers) help to determine how to distribute funds within each of the four focus areas.  The Community Solution Councils help develop the appropriate RFP’s within these focus area, so that donors know their money is serving the most pressing community issues and working to create solutions for a stronger community.  The Community Solution Councils then review the RFP applications and make recommendations to the Community Investment Cabinet. The Cabinet votes to accept or reject these recommendations.  Once the Cabinet makes their final decision the recommendations go to the United Way Board of Trustees for final approval.
