Flint Recovery Corps places full-time and half-time members at local nonprofit organizations. Members serve at these organizations to address the long-term needs of Flint residents affected by the water crisis, particularly in areas of food stability and nutrition, access to medical services, early education, and behavioral and developmental needs. 2018-19 host sites are: Asbury Community Development Corporation, Evergreen Community Development Initiative, Flint & Genesee Literacy Network, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Pediatric Public Health Initiative, Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village, Edible Flint, Flint Fresh, Latinx Technology & Community Center, Hurley Food FARMacy, Crim Fitness Foundation Mindfulness Inititiative, and Urban Renaissance Center. This exciting new program amplifies existing programs by connecting local agencies with one another through AmeriCorps member interaction.
