Request an MTA Bus Pass
MTA bus passes may be requested by 501(c)3 agencies in good standing with the IRS and State of Michigan that serve Genesee County clients in need of emergency transportation to and/or from shelter, employment, medical appointments, or fresh food. Each bus pass is redeemable for a one-way trip. Agencies may request emergency bus passes for use by clients only; bus passes are not for staff member use.
Due to high demand the United Way of Genesee County will limit the total number of bus passes available per month. Awards will be considered in the order requests are received. If we reach our monthly capacity and your agency did not receive bus passes, your agency will be first for consideration in the following month. All requests must be submitted individually by each agency; no multiple agency submissions will be considered.
Request forms are due by the 7th of each month, with passes being awarded by the 15th, based on availability. During the review period, additional information may be requested. Agencies will be notified each month if they have been awarded bus passes.
