Flint AmeriCorps Member Events and Opportunities

In order to help members coordinate services and provide members with professional development opportunities, the Flint National Service Accelerator hosts monthly member meetings, national service day events, and professional development opportunities. 2021 member gatherings are as follows:


  • January 13th, 9-11 AM: Monthly Accelerator Meeting 
  • January 18th: MLK Day of Service 
  • January 20th, 10-11 AM: Budgeting 101 with the LISC Financial Opportunity Center


  • February 2nd, 2-3 PM: Tech Tutorial: 5 Zoom Tips and Tricks 
  • February 10th, 9-3 PM: Life After AmeriCorps Day 
  • February 17th, 9-10 AM: YSA Grant Info Session
  • February 22nd: Resume Reviews


  • March 2nd, 10-11 AM: Tech Tutorial: Facilitation Apps to Engage Your Virtual Audience
  • March 7th-13th: AmeriCorps Week
  • March 10th, 9-11 AM: Monthly Accelerator Meeting


  • April 2nd, 2-3 PM: Tech Tutorial: Excel for Beginners
  • April 14th, 9-11 AM: Monthly Accelerator Meeting
  • April 18th-24th: National Volunteer Week
  • April 23rd-25th: Global Youth Service Day

  • May 21st-22nd: Russ Mawby Signature Service Projects

Days of Service

Flint members also participate in days of service together, to show the collective power of service and volunteerism. Each year, members collaborate on 4 days of service. Click below to see Impact Reports from recent projects.

Other Member Professional Development

Through the Flint National Service Accelerator, members have the opportunity to use their service term as a launch year, helping rocket them to their next opportunity whether it be employment, education or additional service terms.
